Long Arm Quilting

I rented to long-arm quilter yesterday.  It had been a while since I had been there, so I felt like I had to re-learn a few things again, but it went really well, and I had a great time.  I even had a friend tag along for the company, and she took a couple of pictures.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE long-arm quilting and really need one of these in my life!  Just wish they weren't so darn expensive....  One day.....

I dont even know of anywhere you can hire time on one here . Can I be rude and ask what it costs ?

I don't think it's rude... I had to pay $100 to take a class to learn how to use it. After that - it's $15.00/hour. I was there for two hours yesterday. That includes loading it on the frame, winding bobbins, getting it all set up, and then quilting it. This quilt is probably a little larger than a twin, but not quite full size. So, it's pretty reasonable. But it's about 45 minutes away. Not too bad, but wish it was closer or IN MY HOUSE!

I spent the afternoon wrestling with my newly-purchased (second-hand)quilting frame so I'm on a huge learning curve! But I really love the end result of long arm quilting so I'll persist until I get it!
